Comfortable venue, tranquil location short walk to a taxi for the airport, the centre, and Chiang Rai center, greatly enjoyed our stay. The food was astonishing with plenty of choice! We asked for a reasonably spacious and elegant room with a large bed, separate bathroom, for instance and got one.
Well, no welcome.

It was perfectly clean, the staff was really friendly, plus the service was very good! Remote location was a plus. Btw, the airport was 10 km away.

The courtyard with pool
Room was dark and had little charm. Perhaps the larger rooms have anterooms or living rooms.

So peaceful and so comfortable! I had a big bungalow type room all to myself. The sheets were of lovely quality and the air-conditioning unit was modern and very quiet. The bathroom had one of those super rainforest shower heads. Through a nearby lane it took me fifteen minutes to walk into downtown Chiang Rai. I have stayed in many hotels around the world and this has to be one of my favourites. The swimming pool was delightful and so were the breakfasts. Perhaps it helped that the hotel had very few paying guests
The only thing I can think of is that they were asking 100 baht to rent a pedal cycle. This was too much and besides given the location of the hotel, why wasn't bike hire free? However, this small matter doesn't detract from the fact that Baan Soontree is a true hidden gem of a hotel.

The bed was exceptionally comfortable, the bathroom was a good size and there were tea and coffee facilities, a living area, and a couch in the room; the staff was very pleasant and they allowed for an early check-in.

I enjoyed my elegant room with tea/coffee and water cooker, as for instance. All the staff was very pleasant, fixed my issues. Also, location was comfortable and tranquil, just a pleasant stroll away from Wat Tham Phra. Visited few places in the center, a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel.

Rooms were large and spacious, had the swimming pool right at our doorstep.
It was kind of far from the centre of town, but we rented scooters and could be there in 5 minutes, or the front desk will call you a tuk tuk that cost about 60 baht
